The dreaded word Yankee is definitely part of my history.  I was born and raised in Michigan and got to Alabama via Indiana, Virginia, North Carolina, Tennessee, Florida, and finally Alabama.  My husband, Bob, and I joined HPUMC in 2006.  We both sing in the choir.  My service responsibilities here at Highland Park have included Worship Committee, Staff-Parish Relations Committee, Finance Committee, Administrative Board and, for the last 7 year, Lay Leader.
